Fulbright Specialist Program Spotlight: “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica & Specialist Mario Rossi

During November, 2021, through the Fulbright Specialist Program, the Faculty of Geosciences at the “Isa Boletini" University in Mitrovica hosted specialist Mr. Mario Rossi.

The primary purpose of the project Mr. Rossi supported was to analyze, update and propose new study programs within the Faculty of Geosciences, with special emphasis on the study programs of the mining department. To achieve the objectives of the project, Mr. Rossi conducted consultative meetings with Faculty staff and management, as well as an analysis of existing programs, with a special emphasis on mining programs. Furthermore, the Fulbright Specialist visited relevant mining institutions in Kosovo and drafted a proposal for supplementing, amending and restructuring the faculty’s study programs.

Based on the above activities, Mr. Rossi submitted to the faculty a final report on the analysis, namely recommendations for changing and supplementing the curriculum in the Faculty of Geoscience.

The staff at the “Isa Boletini’’ University in Mitrovica pointed out that they had the opportunity to consult with the expert about the latest achievements in the field of geology and mining, and highly appreciated the advice and recommendations, based on a rich practical experience of the expert.

In addition to the primary purpose, during his stay at UIBM the expert, Mr. Rossi has facilitated the establishment of new partnerships of UIBM with several universities, with which it intends to sign cooperation agreements in the field of scientific research and mobility in the future.

The University expressed that they are highly appreciative of the contribution given by the expert and are thankful to the Fulbright Specialist Program for this opportunity.
